Old (win98?) game loaded, now Desktop colors are blown out.

I had NO clue where to post this, but I figure the fix will inevitably be Win11 (maybe graphics card?), regardless of what caused it.

I purchased and installed Myst IV: Revelations through Steam. I've successfully went through Myst I-III completely through Stream without any issues at all. However, when I launched Myst IV, for whatever reason it blew out the colors the Main monitor. Ive run into similar issues with Games like Journeyman project and Command & Conquer, when trying to install/run legacy games on current OS. But they usually revert back. This color issue (caused by Myst IV) however is not.

Does anyone know what changes an old game like Myst IV makes to Win11 to cause things like this, and do you know how to fix it?

Sorry if it's a dumb question: have you rebooted?

Does the issue affect the first boot screens, when nothing Windows 10 is loaded yet? When does it begin (if so) in the bootup process?

Can you see it in the BIOS screens?

Another possible diagnostic/remedy is to shut down the system, unplug it from the mains for at least one minute if it's a desktop (if it's a laptop with battery, no idea), and boot up again. If you have boot media you could try them as diagnostic.

If it's a permanent hardware failure I doubt the game has caused it, but I'm not expert in the concrete issue.

For clarification, everything is visible, its just that the colors are over exposed or blown out. Reds are redder, whites are whiter, and blacks are blacker. Almost like when the TV has HDR that shouldnt be on or something. But it happens in Bios and after Splash screen (OS loading). Alienware splash screen doesn't seem to be affected. Ive reached out to Dell and theyre helping me. Sorry Im not explaining it right.

Visible in the BIOS settings? Unexpected.

A few years ago, I had a Sony Bravia that would do odd things when trying to play old DOS games looking like it had reverted to almost like 16 color format. I would have to power cycle the TV to get the display back to normal.
