ONCE AGAIN, HOW TO MAKE WIN 11 LOOK LIKE WIN XP

All of the forums in the past have really helped and assisted me in making the change so I'm here to see if there is someone who
can "REALLY HELP"...I've got a " new desktop " with factory Win 11..previous info was not available from anyone, and I'm retired 82 year old
36 year military and don't like the new changes and love XP. Please help.

How to make my Win 11 desktop to look like Win XP classic

I'll pass on it, mainly because some tweaks that can be performed on Win11 can be killed by updates or Version Upgrades, makes such efforts worthless quickly. The only Versions I've never owned since MS-DOS 5 with Windows 3.1 and Windows NT 3.51 were Windows ME and Windows Vista, not hard to become acquainted with new ways of seeing things. If wanting my own version of an OS I'd go with the OpenSource Linux as others have done, there's at least 100 different versions listed on www.distrowatch.com that came about by those wanting something different and most have at least 3 different desktops/views available.

@Magno, Many of us here are in your age bracket(some even older) and many here do not like change. However, It's a fact of life, especially with technology, and we have to change with it whether we like it or not. It may have been easier for us since we moved past XP and learned vista, 8,10, and now 11. But the point is, we learned and you will have to as well.

You can use a 3rd party tool to alter your start menu and taskbar, such as Open Shell, Explorer Patcher, and Start11.
You can also look at the forum's tutorial section that can make 11 more workable for you, but you can't make 11 look like 10.
Newer OSes are designed for modern hardware and built around a completely different code-set than XP.

Get someone younger to give you some hints, or better yet, take a class if a nearby college or senior center offers one. Other than that, the only other advise I can offer is you possibly could run XP as a virtual machine if you know someone who understands how to create one.

I also think Linux might be a consideration for you. Mint Cinnamon version has a similar interface as to what you are accustomed to. But I'd like to see you persevere and learn. You will surprise yourself by what you can do and the feeling of accomplishment it will give you.

And I suppose being in the military for 36 years would have also taught you that if the military wanted to upgrade their uniforms and you wanted to keep wearing your old one, you would have been told, No.

Trust me, if you’re worried about learning difficulties regarding the new OS, you’ll freak out when you discover that making so many tweaks to get you an interface you’re used to, will most likely cause problems you’ll never know how to correct.

I’d get used to the new interface and call on us here when you need help with it.
