Since upgrading to Windows11 my editing software, Vegas Pro 19 will not open unless using Task Manager.

When launching Vegas nothing happens. When opening Task Manager, Vegas 19 can be found in Background Processes & when left mouse picking Vegas 19 will suddenly open.

After closing Vegas, Vegas will open normal later in the session. Once the PC has been restarted or completely shut down the non start reoccurs. None of my other software has a similar issue.

Just curious if others experienced this?

That's definitely odd.

It's not seemingly sliding from outside of your monitor's borders onto the monitor, is it? Perhaps you could try using the compatibility and setting it to Windows 8 / 7 and see if that helps?

See Change Compatibility Mode Settings for Apps in Windows 10

Although it is written for Windows 10, it pretty much works the same in Win11, and that site is our sister site dedicated to Windows 10. Might help with the issue.

Odd, the last several times I opened Vegas all opened okay. Maybe it's like going to the doctor & suddenly feeling no pain! 😉 I'll keep an eye on it.

It's odd. If I wait long enough Vegas will open. After that it opens fine. Just have a problem opening after boot PC. Tomorrow I'll try administrator first.

From the Vegas Pro forums:

This sounds like it is you - if it isn't, well, it is almost identical to your posts here lol.

I suspect that if you contact Vegas Support directly they may be able to help you out better as this is (seemingly) a Vegas issue, and it may clear up if they put out another update soon.

Also, have you tried simply uninstalling and then re-installing it? In reading around the web, I doubt you need to run it with compatibility mode as I read several other reports that v16 works in Windows 11, and 1 direct post that v18 does as well, so 19 should have no issues, either, meaning it won't have a need to revert to a compatibility mode to run.

Thanks. That was my "inner self" over at the Vegas forum.

Magix offered an Vegas update (381) to fix slow window generation. I didn't have a slow window generation issue while running Windows 10 but did install it a month before upgrading to Windows 11. Slow window generation could be my issue now in Windows 11.

I have now reinstalled Vegas. Will report results.

Uninstall/reinstall did not help. According to Vegas support, Windows 11 is not officially supported yet but no other users have reported an issue similar to mine.

Here's the latest- Vegas 19 will not launch on first try. When opening the Task Manager (see image) VEGAS Pro can be found in Background Processes (there are two because I tried to launch twice). For whatever reason if VEGAS Pro is selected & End Task picked Vegas will launch & will continue to launch normal for the rest of the session.

I thought my antivirus may have something to do with this but shutting it down did not help.

If I set Vegas 19 to Run as Administrator the software opens consistently, no problems. That, for now, seems to be the solution.

Good to hear it works now :)
I had that similar problem with a few older games, which simply wouldn't start unless I run them as administrator. Didn't find the exact reason for that behaviour though.
