Solved ONEDRIVE - can someone explain this to me please?

The way I run it, (onedrive) i have the backups option off.

I physically put my onedrive on D:\onedrive

I set my libraries for documents to hit D:\OneDrive\Documents. pictures to go to D:\OneDrive\Pictures. I do like these things going to OneDrive. For everything else, when I save something that I want to hit OneDrive, i just hit the library called Patrick-Personal which is my onedrive, then I create folders in there for organization and drop files that I would like synced there.

For things I save that I don't want to go to OneDrive, I just save them anywhere other than in D:\OneDrive.

I don't use the Music folder, so it still points at C:\users\pat\music and i don't use videos, so it points at C:\users\pat\vides. So once the backup option is off, you can change the location tab on the library folders and move them back to where you want them, C:\users\profile\foldername.

As a suggestion, you "could", create something like C:\OneDrive. Set your libraries to you local folders as you want them. OPtionally to go choose folders in onedrive and only mark what you may want to see on this computer. With this, you can still use OneDrive for rare instances where you want something in the cloud, but your normal default save to locations are 100% local and don't sync to OneDrive.

In my opinion, OneDrive, as awesome as it might be, is one of the most functionally misleading, revenue driven features of the entire Windows operating system..., or, of any software package, for that matter.
Hi,
Yep like a dope dealer but in onedrives case the first 15gb is free :lmao:

OK . I give up. I didn't know this was such a hot topic. I've already installed it and just wanted to get rid of the C:1d/docs and pics folders. I have simply removed them from Quick Access and hopefully that will make me happy :-)
Not sure what there is to install
It's it's already there hehe

I use this to get rid of it
Code:
rem Disable One Drive
reg add HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive /v DisableFileSyncNGSC /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
start /wait %SystemRoot%\System32\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall
rd "%PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft OneDrive" /Q /S

reg load HKLM\DEFAULT c:\users\default\ntuser.dat

I tried those code lines, ThrashZone, and OneDrive partially came back after the last update. I mean, OneDrive wasn't listed in the System settings installed apps, but it showed up as the default file folder whenever I tried to save something. I ran your code lines again, but I also added the following code lines that I got from a Tom's Hardware post a few weeks ago. It seems to have worked after a reboot, but I'll wait and see what happens next.
