I have two-factor authentication (2FA) security on my Outlook email.

Its the same Outlook email I use on my Onedrive.

Is the two-factor authentication (2FA) security also applied if someone tries to login on my Onedrive via browser?

Yes to all of your questions. The downside is 2FA can be spoofed by a cloned device, and you are locked out of everything if you lose your phone.

MSA 2FA turns a device into 1FA (passkey) once verified. MS assumes that devices never get stolen nor hacked.
Windows 2FA = 1FA - MS asks you twice via UAC: 1. Is that you? Yes! 2. Is that really you? Yes. And that is it.
Another problem is that you can never really log out, there is only a nuke option, log out of everywhere.

There are multiple verification options and a backup code, but nobody backups it though.



People should keep a backup old phone for emergencies and for 2FA.

i use a browser extension 2FA Authenticator
from the chrome store

from the Edge add on store

you can password protect the data which also encrypts the data and back this up to file
saves any need for a mobile phone to 2FA anything.
