The last thing I purchased was for a hobby. A high grade security camera with an extra large sensor, 4K resolution, 0.0005 Lux rating, 2.8mm lens.. all to watch the sky.
I catch between 3 and 10 meteors per week on this camera.. And the number of satellites this camera can see is just staggering. An hour after sunset, just in the area of the sky the camera is looking at (105 degree field of view), I can count 8 to 10 satellites at a time (in the same frame) going different directions.
In one hour of viewing, over 250 satellites.
Caught this meteor a few nights ago.. Not a great one, but enough. Not bad for an un-cooled off-the-shelf IP Security camera.
