Lets start with that I installed Office 2019 on to somebody computer that had Office 365 on it. She didn't want to keep paying for a subscription. She cancel the subscription.

How it still is showing up as outlook 365 and need to reactivate the subscription. She uninstall office 365 too. But every time when she clicks on the icon for outlook 2019 it comes up as outlook 365.

We even went into settings and app & features to look to see if the app 365 was still there and it isn't. Plus she has told me that everything in office 2019 has cancelled subscription.

Is there a tool to make sure all office 365 is uninstall.

You did everything right.
365 will go away when the next Office update is pushed out and the 2019 logo will then be displayed.
It can take about a month. Don't worry, she will no longer be charged.

Not after the fac
s there a tool to make sure all office 365 is uninstall.
Hi, and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry but I have to disagree with Oat.
Yes, there is a tool I don't think it wil not work after the fact. You can try it, though. Since versions of office share some dlls, what most people do not understand is you can run into all kinds of problems when 2 versions of office are installed at the same time UNLESS the older version of Office is installed first. Installs have to be done in reverse order so 365 should have been removed before installing 2019 using the appropriate uninstall method depending on which version of 365 she had---MS windows installer(MSI), click to run, or MS Store app. The following article instructs how to find the version and its appropriate method of uninstall, as well as the Office 365 uninstall tool. There's also a manual uninstall method listed. Uninstall Office from a PC - Microsoft Support

If she had an active 365 subscription she should have cancelled it first. Cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription - Microsoft Support

First, since the above procedure was not used to properly uninstall 365, you will have to use the manual method to get everything uninstalled. Restart computer.

Then, open a few files (docx, xls, etc) to verify they open correctly in 2019. If they do not, uninstall 2019. Use an uninstaller like Revo that will remove all leftover registry entries and files.

Restart the computer. Then Re-install 2019. Verify that the file associations are correct by again opening a few files. If anything needs to be corrected you can do so from settings>system>apps>default apps> scroll to the bottom and select "choose default by file type".

I thought about it when I install it that should have uninstall 365. But we are dealing with Microsoft. But thanks for the help what we are going to do is start new. I'm going to do clean install of windows. Plus she really has two OS on the computer one on "C" and one on "D" The one on "D" I think in is windows 10.

Plus this is like the olds days when you had a dual boot. XP, then Wins 7 or Win 7 and then Win 10

Don't forget that Windows 11 automatically installs 365 which I believe is the store app with 11. Uninstall it first.

I have windows 11 on 2 computers. Both of them have office 2019 on them. I never uninstalled office 365. It all has to do with where she had a subscription to it. It was fully installed on her computer. like you said I should uninstalled that first before I installed 2019. But I will check it to make sure.

As a 30+ year computer tech and computer repair professional who owns a computer repair business, Oat is 100% wrong.

Where in the world did Oat come up with their reply?!
