I decided to upgrade my old AIO to a new system with Win 11 and MS Office Professional 2021. I added a local data file with my contacts and calendar because IMAP does not support contacts and calendars. Then I added my Gmail IMAP email account and everything looked great with just one contact list and one calendar. Next I added my outlook.com email account and now I have two sets of contacts and calendars with one saying outlook.com. Does this sound right? Does outlook.com support calendars and contacts and will they sync across my 3 machines? If not, can I get rid of the extra calendar and contacts list? Thanks in advance.

I use outlook.com myself. I install Microsoft 365, which includes Outlook, on the majority of my systems.

Since the e-mail is stored on the Microsoft Exchange servers, when you setup outlook on any system, it simply pulls all your e-mail from the Exchange server. As a result, e-mail remains synced up on all systems since it is stored on the servers.

I also have one system that I designate as my primary system. On that system I keep a local mail file which I use to archive data from Outlook. So, the archives are only available on that one machine, unless I copy the archive file to other systems. But everything not archived remains available to all systems.

Thanks that what I thought. MS must be using an exchange server. I too use the AIO as the primary system and archive my emails I want to keep in a My Old Email Folder on the local machine. One reason I got this new machine is MS sent me an email stating my old Office 2016 would soon no longer be able to access Outlook.com
