Have a subscription to MS Office 365, been using it since 2017, Outlook Classic is used daily here. Guess in the future if i have to be forced to switch to Outlook New, then at the time will then i suppose
Been using Outlook for as long as i can remember--started when bought first MS Office around 1998, then bought Office 2013 years later--used that til i upgraded to MS Office 365 with laptop purchase (5 years purchased at that time) renewed immediately when it expired

Today, Calendar opened to the new Outlook. I tried to open the classic Calendar but it only gave me an option to export or go to the new Outlook. Now I am stuck with the new Calendar.

Unfortunately, I get a pop-up windows stating Mail and Calendar are no longer supported and I can't go back (see below). When I click on Open Outlook, it just takes me back to the new Outlook.

no back in January, microsoft started forcing Mail and Calendar users to migrate to the New Outlook app. no going back unless someone develops an app to emulate the original mail and calendar. you can't sideload the old one as it will just prompt to migrate again

I have at least 25 years of archived email in various PST files, including some from old jobs. I will use classic outlook forever, or until I pass away first. I have several use cases where I have to use Outlook offline, and not supporting those use cases is a dealbreaker for me. Beyond that, what is the underlying business driver for Microsoft? Harvesting all our data? Charging us for cloud storage for a guaranteed and ever increasing amount of storage.

A week ago, I performed a clean install of Windows. When I was reinstalling Microsoft 365, every app except Outlook installed. Uninstalled Microsoft 365 and tried again with same results. BruceR's suggestion (which I'd found independently and bookmarked) has the link to the only way to download Outlook (classic). Downloading from the Microsoft Office page or Microsoft Store only results in installing the New Outlook.

Thank God. Just as an FYI. It’s always a good idea that if that happens again, you get someone to drop another bucket on your head. In my case, it was an Apple Mac that someone threw out a window.
