Outlook Classic or Outlook New?

Naw, I'm on solid ground with eM Client, I'm gonna leave it at that.

I'm an old stick-in-the-mud. I'll stick with what I have until they drag me out kicking and screaming.

I will stay with Classic until the New Outlook can support 100% of the features I use in Classic, plus some new ones.

Tried it..., don't care for it.

I am fooling around with the 'new' Mailbird Next though, for the first time since they shafted me on my Lifetime License 3 years ago!!! (Peckers!!!)

Never had any gripes or issues with New Outlook and I've been using right from when MS first released it. It is way more stable in my experience than the old Outlook (i.e. the old app that used to be in Office\Microsoft 365).

New Outlook runs with my Exchange Online email setup just fine and dandy.

If I set the new Outlook to Hide When Minimized, I don't get to see the new mail badge, as Windows only supports icon badges on the taskbar and not the system tray icons.

Ha!!! Outlook won't run for me cuz I nuked Edge and WebView along with it!!!

I've been giving New Outlook a go recently as, despite regular 365 updates, actual fixes to Classic are less common. The most irritating has been a failure to correctly display some emails containing graphics etc e.g. QR codes needing to be scanned, and MailTips disable settings not saving, as examples.

Recently two things were fixed eventually - Event 300 'Failed to parse element: VersionOverride' (after many months) and more recently Copilot (enable/disable now available).

Some things I miss - a new mail envelope in the system tray that can be made visible separate to the Outlook icon, better control over download/display of images. It was a little harder to get an attractive presentation in Windows dark mode - Light and Image worked in the end.

I'd been content to extend a 365 sub to have Outlook Classic as well as Word and Excel, but if New keeps improving then the benefit of the sub becomes questionable.

Yes, the new Outlook only uses badges on the taskbar, which aren't available in the system tray. Even notifications of new emails that pop up don't do anything when I click on them.
