I contacted 'Microsoft Support' and asked the following question about Microsoft 365 Personal.

I have two email addresses: 'If' I do subscribe to a Microsoft 365 Personal Account using my main Email/Microsoft account, will my other Microsoft Email account including an AOL email account, which I shall access via Windows 11 "OUTLOOK" 'Be Ad Free' The answer was NO! Only the single primary Microsoft Account will be Ad free, any other MS Email Account will still have Ads dropped in them. I just felt that was somewhat greedy. I wouldn't mind just paying a subscription for a completely Ad-free version of 'Windows Outlook' but that isn't an option. Btw, I have tried most usual 'fixes' and workarounds suggested, but nothing seems to work to STOP these Email Ads inserted by Microsoft.

Is that the Outlook Mail (replacement for Windows Mail or Outlook 365?
If Outlook Mail then you may want to consider a paid adblocker like AdGuard. I don’t see ads in Outlook Mail just a blank space where they’d be.

Yes, the New 'Outlook Mail'. I have the Trend Micro Ad Block + Ghostery, but they don't filter 'Emails' which are in effect Advertising Spam (Microsoft won't allow the spam settings in OUTLOOK to stop this). I guess everyone will have to accept 'Ad Emails' in New Outlook in the fullness of time or PAY UP for Office 365! Maybe other members on here can comment.

This is curious to me. I have a 365 Office account but honestly I rarely use it or use it enough to notice any Ads. Are these Ads imbedded into an email or just shown within the Outlook App itself?

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
You can use uBlock Origine in browsers to block ads in outlook / hotmail / live .com.
I don't see any.
If it's 365 then, look at this site:

I’ve never seen an ad in MS apps since buying & installing AdGuard for Windows.
Those programs will only block ads on websites.

This is what you get when you purchase software as a service, one would think that if you are paying a subscription for Office 365 (which thankfully I do not) you should get no ads at all no matter how many email accounts you link to it, well think again. This was the MS plan all along.
Purchase the MS Home Office Pro Suite installer (yes you can still purchase the suite) and you get none of that nonsense. No need for ad blockers and the sort.

If you are paying good money , it doesn't matter if it is a subscription software or installer, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to have ads crammed in your face. I just dumped a fairly new Vizio smart TV because Walmart bought Vizio out and is getting ready to cram Walmart ads in the face of everyone that owns a Vizio smart TV. It all boils down to pure corporate greed, nothing more, nothing less and everyone buys into it because they feel they have to ..... well you don't, there are alternatives to everything.

Windows as a service will do the same exact thing .... mark my words, hell .... it already does it, just most of us block it through telemetry.

Microsoft has set a clear path to it's own downfall ...... Linux systems are getting more user friendly every day.

Windows 11 "OUTLOOK" 'Be Ad Free' The answer was NO!
You seem to be mixing up
MSOffice Outlook 365 [MS sometimes refers to that as Classic Outlook]
&
Outlook for Windows.
They are different applications.
Perhaps your chat with MS was also mixed up?

I have not seen any ads in MSOffice Outlook 2021 [~=MSOffice Outlook 365]
I have not used Outlook for Windows.

Microsoft Mail is going away soon and the "new outlook" is just a copy of the website with ads.

Is there an alternative to check hotmail?
Something simple, lightweight, secure and that checks the inbox in the background?

I tried Thunderbird, but it feels like I'm driving an elephant to catch a fly. 🥴

Thats how I read the OP’s post. I also think it’s bad. Not sure what all these ad blockers have to do with it.
So with the answer given to tellboy by MS; they’re literally saying you need a Microsoft Office 365 subscription for every Microsoft email account outside of the main address because only the main email address related to the subscription is free of receiving spam mail. (Spam mail which is what I believe tellboy means)
Hard to believe if true.

Try using public DNS servers in your router which block ads. Something like Cloudflare.

I have tried most usual 'fixes' and workarounds suggested, but nothing seems to work to STOP these Email Ads
Forward emails to your account and simply categorize them based on the origin.
I forward all emails into my outlook, I see no reason to add dozens of accounts.

Hi,

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed on ElevenForum
If not, this will help users of the new Outlook on Windows 11.

To hide the ads sent by Microsoft you need to modify the Hosts file.

  1. Open Notepad or Notepad++ as administrator
  2. Open the Host file here C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
  3. Add line 127.0.0.1 outlookads.live.com #block Ads
  4. Save.
A ghost mail is still displayed in "Others" , but it is not very annoying and you never see any ads. ;-)
