PC shuts down automatically every 60 minutes - how to find what triggers it?

windows 11
Hello,
My Windows 11 PC automatically shuts down about one hour after startup, without any warning or visible reason.

Here is what I’ve discovered so far:
- In Event Viewer, there’s always an event “6008 — The previous system shutdown was unexpected.”
- I also found two Windows services named `Babaika` and `BabaikaService`, which seem to belong to like a “Time Control” program.
- I’ve tried modifying or deleting the `limit.txt` file, creating scripts with `shutdown -a`, and other workarounds, but the issue persists.
- I cannot use Safe Mode or WinRE because the keyboard and mouse don’t work there, which limits my diagnostic options.

1. How can I find out exactly which program or service is initiating the shutdown? Are there specific steps (via Event Viewer, PowerShell Get-WinEvent, registry, etc.)?
2. If this is a service running under the SYSTEM account, is there a way to disable or remove it without admin rights? Any safe methods?
3. Which Event IDs or logs should I look for to track down the exact shutdown source?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Which Event IDs or logs should I look for to track down the exact shutdown source?

Hi, welcome.

Key Event IDs to look for:
  • 41Kernel-Power (unexpected restart, power loss, crash)
  • 1074 – Clean shutdown/restart initiated by a process (Windows Update, user, or software)
  • 6006 – Event log service stopped (normal shutdown)
  • 6008 – Unexpected shutdown (system didn’t shut down cleanly)
  • 6005 – Event log service started (system boot)
  • Use Filter Current Log (right‑click System > Filter) to narrow by Event ID (e.g. 41)
  • Cross‑check the timestamp with when the restart occurred
  • If you see Event ID 41 without a matching 1074, it usually means a crash, forced reset, or power issue
  • If you see 1074, the restart was intentional (update, user action, or software)

Banakia is a parental time control program. Info is here Babaika's Parents Time Control Portable
If you download the zip file there is probably an uninstaller included. I think it’s written in Visual Basic so the Apps section of Windows Settings might have an uninstaller entry.

I’d be looking in Scheduled Tasks (If you haven’t already) that program may create a task as per its settings.
