WIN 11 Pro
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
OS Version: 10.0.22000 N/A Build 22000
Original Install Date: 5/2/2022, 5:30:49 PM
System Boot Time: 5/18/2022, 8:29:12 AM

Today computer booting up went back to add Microsoft account after running for 16 days after a clean install with oobe\bypassnro command. This is third time it has done this. I used an Acronis image to restore me back a couple days earlier first time. Today I clicked back and forth in the screens looking around and finally just rebooted it and it came up normally then.

Last major update was on 5/10/2022 2022-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5013943)
This was last actual update on 5/15/2022 Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.363.2024.0)

Going by another website today I went in and disabled Focus things on Start Menu and all Toast Notifications in Group Policy. We'll see if that holds. Don't use Office, Onedrive or anything else. I used to use scripts to remove stuff like Debloat-Windows-10, Decrapifier 18XX/19XX/2XXX, Windows10ReTweaker but those things caused major problems with windows. I even went back to Win 10 for a couple months.

I do use a really old Hotmail MS account with Visual Studio Community 2022 so makes me wonder is this account tripping windows up? MS just forcing us to have MS account so they can control us like Google?

You will want to turn off 'Offer suggestions on how I can set up my device', else you'll get nagged to switch to a Microsoft account. It's hidden away right at the bottom of System > Notifications.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October.

Thanks Bree, Will see how that works out. Of course they write the reg as binary making it hard to disable

Been fighting this several months trying to figure out what was changing and what was weird is the booting up, you have no options there either MS or won't load but I resisted. Couple times before it wouldn't load Win after reboot. Was able to get to Acronis through Recovery somehow because I didn't know it was in the recovery things.

Hi guys at the risk of being shouted at (!)...

A " friend" had for many years a naughty computer on which not much of the software was good it was a bit "wobbly"; but everything updated and went well in both Windows 11 in all its incarnations mostly PRO and HOME and Office 2016 right onto to the new Office 2021.
Then said friend got a bit more dosh and got a brand new all singing dancing Dell AIO and lots of fun and being a rather OTT with said computer and causing it to crash on very first day disastrously and thus he learnt about the importance of backups and not being a prized t++t in the first place.
Many reinstalls and formats later a lot has been learnt but said friend had from the word GO had to get used to a Microsoft Account and Windows 11 is the HOME version and tied to the UEFI bios
Has it changed anything ? Not one bit the computer still has good performance and use is made of O&O Shut Up, Windows Spy Blocker, and a few yummy bat and reg command files too.
So I guess in my friend's view too much worry is made of this account set up and Microsoft requirement but he may be wrong,,,,

No one will shout. Its ok to go to the Dark Side :tears: if you ready to do that.

I have been hacking on Doze since 1975 win 3.1. I want my PC to run and do things I want it to do, in other words I don't need Google or MS doing things behind the scenes but that is becoming harder to do. I hacked win 7 completely removing that awful flowery background image but now they just use a colored background. My friend was the first to remove Cortana from win 10 and everything worked but won't work in W11. MS tightening the reins. Guess their Win as a service thingy but a lot of us can just install Linux of some sort, I don't want to cause I want certain things.

Believe me I have thought of just putting on the MS account and uninstall most the junk comes with Win11 and flipping all the switches off. Never thought about Notifications as Bree suggested although have to do same thing on my iphone so heres my sign
