PDF Reader what are your preferred alternatives to Adobe

PdfGear works well for me both as a reader as well as an editor. Price - $0.
Yeah, I'm curious about this one. Seems quite good tbh.

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
I've tried a few of the suggested now .... my preferred just for viewing is Foxit but it doesn't have any of the other functionality.

Tried PDF Xchange Editor .... viewing is "OK" but editing or converting to Word are only available with the paid versions.

I tried PDF Gear again, this time I spent a bit of time rearrange the header etc. and got a layout I prefer, I have to say it does it all so think this is where I'm going from now on.

Cheers for everybody's help and input, it's always appreciated!!

If you want to know how good a pdf editor is, try converting a bank form from pdf to word.

Online pdf editors do it perfectly. That is expected as they get paid.

Too many laptops with different system specifications.

You can convert to Word with the free version, but it has "Demo" plastered over it.

Using a browser like Edge and Firefox is an overkill especially for simply reading/viewing PDFs. This off course omits the huge data harvesters that modern browsers have become. Apart from being heavy.

Microsoft had a good application called as Reader, which used to support PDF and XPS files. It was light too on the resources. Like all good applications Microsoft discontinued it.

Still looking for a good alternative to Adobe Acrobat reader. Mainly to do the following
1) View PDF
2) Print PDF to my HP Printer
3) Validate PDF Signatures

The application should not install a service or a task in task scheduler.

For filling up PDF forms I will use in the inbuilt PDF application of Edge or other browsers. To export it into DOC I can use LibreOffice Draw application.
