Starting with Windows 11 build 26100.7922 (24H2) and 26200.7922 (25H2), and build 2800.1764 (26H1), Microsoft is gradually rolling out the ability to do built-in network speed test accessible from the taskbar. You can launch it via the Wi-Fi and Cellular Quick Settings pages or by right-clicking the network icon in the system tray. The tool opens in your default browser and supports testing Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Cellular connections. This feature helps assess network performance and supports troubleshooting.

1 Go to the SpeedTest.net site in your browser.
2 Click/tap on GO when ready to start the network speed test. (see screenshot below)
1 Right click on the Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Cellular network icon on the taskbar corner, and click/tap on Perform speed test. (see screenshots below)
2 Your default browser will now open to the Internet speed test tool by SpeedTest.
3 Click/tap on Start when ready to start the network speed test. (see screenshot below)
1 Open Quick Settings (Win+A).
2 Click/tap on the Wi-Fi or Cellular arrow. (see screenshot below)
3 Click/tap on the Perform speed test button. (see screenshot below)
4 Your default browser will now open to the Internet speed test tool by SpeedTest.
5 Click/tap on Start when ready to start the network speed test. (see screenshot below)
