Since the proprietary Intel XTU utility is often locked out by BIOS settings, the free ThrottleStop program remains the best tool for managing Intel processors.
1. Download and launch ThrottleStop.
2. On the main screen, click the FIVR button.
3. In the window that opens, look at the bottom-left corner—the "Turbo Ratio Limits" section. This lists the maximum core multipliers.
4. If the value for 1–2 cores is set to 58 (meaning 5.8 GHz), lower all values to a single, stable level.
• Recommendation: Set all rows to 50 or 52 (this locks the P-cores at a safe 5.0–5.2 GHz).
5. Click Apply and OK. Leave the program minimized to the system tray while gaming. If the crashes stop, you have found the root cause of the problem.
