Personalization colors

Should be easy, but I can't find all these.
Personalization colors have changed.
Taskbar used to be white. Now a dark gray.
The 'active' app title bar used to be blue - inactive was white. Now both are white.
If I highlighted an app on the desktop, it appeared white. Now I can't tell if an app icon is even highlighted.

Works in W10 and W11...


Active title bar and Taskbar colors are in Settings > Personalization > Colors
The "Theme" you choose in Settings > Personalization > Themes, has an affect on the Color settings.

If you use light mode the "show accent color on start and taskbar' will be grayed out. It is because Windows has to be in dark mode for it to be available. Here's the trick to make this option available in light mode.

go to settings-personalization- colors.

under 'choose your mode', change it to dark mode (this is temporary and it un-grays the option.)
Pick your accent color.

Change 'show accent color on start and taskbar' to ON and change 'show accent color on title bar and windows borders' to ON.

scroll back up to 'choose your mode' change it to CUSTOM

set 'choose your windows default mode' to DARK

set 'choose your app mode' to LIGHT

You can use Winaerotweaker portable under "Appearance" section and changed the color of your inactive title bars. (The active title bars use your accent color)

The interface is more intuitive, and everything is configurable separately.
