Photoshop Replacement

Gimp doesn't even come this close to being a Photoshop clone ...

PhotoCraft

This company recreated the entire Adobe Suite using AI and it's free

Check out the article here: "Software is over": Developer uses AI to build free Adobe clones after frustration with cancellation fees

Just installed PhotoCraft which is the Photoshop replacement, IMO it looks and feels just like Photoshop and takes a fraction of the time to install than Photoshop does.

I don't see it that way!

PhotoSuite > It's basically a Photoshop clone and very lightweight; it runs on my machine, which is pretty weak.

Looks free on this page - scroll down where it says "Download Launcher - Windows Installer 64 bit" That installs all of artcraft apparently. Or further down you can just download Photocraft on its own - "Standalone for Windows".

PhotoCraft: The image editor you already know how to use.

The open-source image editor you already know how to use.

Programs that dowload for free do not always function for free.

Very often they only can be used for free in a restricted way.
If they have a Pricing page where the Basic subscription is described as "For getting started" I cannot imagine it will be provided for free as well!

Did you see that people have cloned the Adobe suite with AI?

I agree with @Kees THIS pricing page says "Create without LIMITS". I wouldn't expect it to be around long by the time Adobe's lawyers get through with them.

This seems to be relevant.

Affinity is still probably your best bet.

When an AI hacked huggingface no one was brought to court for hacking as it was not a human even humans had setup the AI.
AI made a copy of Photoshop.. As the one above is the same, then no one should be brought to court.

and now you will see the difference between Big-tech breaking laws and small people. Even its the same, the little one will be hunted as they dont dare hunt big-tech

I got it, (Affinity) for $35.00, a few years ago - they said for life, I think it was for three devices.

On that page is also this - but I don't quite understand what it's saying

"Footnote

ArtCraft can be used without paying for a subscription. You can bring your own compute and third-party subscriptions. We hope you’ll subscribe, though, as that helps accelerate our development."

It was some kind of deal at the time, so I jumped on it.

Ah! I got the whole Suite, 130 bucks, I think.
I downloaded the Canva version too, but, I still use version 2.

In the country where I live under the consumer laws, they'd be in trouble for a misleading statement like that.

I am still learning it. It's going slow because I don't take as many images these days. It's a shame... I finally got Lightroom all figured out then LR6 was the last version to own. Then I got a new computer, and I couldn't take it with me because Adobe made it too hard to install it, (I had the disk) on my new computer. That left me with just the Nikon NX Studio software and PS Elements. So, now I use NX Studio for RAW conversion as it does that job pretty much spot on. Elements for quick edits and Affinity for all the other. It's kind of a pain - I really miss LR for RAW processing.

Edwin · 2026-10-10T16:23:32-0400

I think the Canva version is probably a bit more intuitively user-friendly, but...,
my Designer templates from version 2 are not compatible with version 3!!!

So, I keep using version 2.
