Placebo, or is Build 22494 a bit snappier?

I dual boot Win 10 and 11. Windows 10 is my primary OS, but I spend a lot of time in Windows 11. After today's upgrade, Windows 11 seems to be quite snappier in navigating around the OS. When I reboot into Windows 10, it seems just a little bit laggy.

I am starting to enjoy using 11 more than 10, and may switch over permanently. I'll still keep 10 as a fallback.

I also dual booted and found myself booting Win 11 more often then Win 10. Since MS wasn't offering it to me I went ahead and got it with the Installation Assistant. Smoothest Windows upgrade I ever did. I did create a full Macrium image of my 10 install, just in case.

Are you running a dev build? If so, you'll have to clean install.

Running the latest "pre-release" build 22494.1000 -- working fine for me apart from SKY GO -- that still works on W10 so I have W10 and W11 on "vhdx" files and boot as "physical vhdx" systems -- not VM's BTW . Am using W10 less and less these days.

Easy way also if you use IMAP with outlook and you install everything new on W11 - just create a .reg file on W10 of your outlook stuff and insert it back into the registry in W11 . All accounts, emails etc restored without fuss -- you'll have to re-insert passwords first time though on each account.

Export this as a .reg file and then re-import it back again.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles

For Account signatures if you use those --(I don't myself though)

search for
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures ad save all files / folders and then restore on new computer

Seems to be a tad faster to me. For example: File Explorer pops up on the desktop more quickly, and it transitions to other displays --e.g. This PC, Named Folders, and so forth -- more quickly as well.

Working for me -- apart from SKY GO - still boot Windows 10 from "physical VHDX" for when I need that app --otherwise W11 is fine.

Sky GO working OK now. I think all the snipping tool problems also fixed.
