If you have a piece of airline, such as used for a fish tank or similar, you can use it as a stethoscope to isolate the noise. Place one end close to your ear and use the other end to pinpoint the source of the noise. Also, if these are older games and you're running without the frame rates limited by vsync for example, you could be hitting hundreds of FPS which can cause coil whine.

They do seem to be coming through the subwoofer - it is a new buzz tho and the games arent that old no oler then 2 or 3 years - i will check vsync tho :)

Assuming the whine is not from the speakers it can be any inductor within the PSU or Graphics Card.
Varying current through the coils can result in vibration and hence whine. Basically the inductor windings have not been stuck down and/or not dampened sufficiently.
You could fix that by applying a suitable dampening substance on the winding.

You have to find the suspect part first. An electronics engineer will/should know, an "average consumer" likely not.

Put "Corsair CX750M coil whine" in to Google AI

Some lower category Corsair PSUs are known for "coil whine".

If the sound is coming through the subwoofer that tells me that the noise is electrical interference and not mechanical. Have you checked the wires going from the computer to the speakers to see if they have been damaged? For example, a wire were the outer shielding has been damaged.

I hear ya! Getting to the wires on my main desktop computer is a pain. Especially if the power cord or the USB cable going to my UPS falls behind my desk it's a big pain for me trying to cry under my desk to get to them.

Hi sorry for the delay - been busy filling skips and going to funerals - i have checked t he wires of the speakers i unplugged and made sure they were ok, they look fine - i have also tweaked the setting a bit as well (i did before posting this topic) The buzzing seems tohave stopped between me doing the cables and the new setting - so fingers crossed i have fixed it before i threw the speakers into the skip  - thanks for all your help - appreciated :-)
