Possible to output audio to two monitors at the same time?

Building a new computer for a friend. This computer has audio jacks. It will also be using the Intel onboard video from a i7-12700K CPU. Screens will be connected using HDMI or DisplayPort to two screens.

One of the things I was asked to do, if possible, was to have the sound come out of the speakers on BOTH displays. Just a single audio stream to both monitors, not a different audio signal to each display. I don't think that the monitors have an audio in jack, but does have speakers for the HDMI/DisplayPort audio.

Any idea if this is this possible?

It's possible.
I have desktop speakers for my audio, but I also have HDMI running from the vid card to a TV.

At default settings, whatever sound is produced, comes out on both my monitor and my TV.
I "can" set the audio to be different on the monitor and TV, which is what I do normally.

Things like music, browser sounds (like youtube, etc.) come from the desktop speakers.
When I play a movie (stored on a hard drive) on the TV, I can set Windows sound settings (playback devices), and VLC media player to "only" play the movie's sound on the TV.

As I said, at default, the sounds on my desktop speakers, also play on the TV.

The OP asked if he can play the same audio on both monitors at the same time. I am not sure this is possible using two separate outputs, such as one HDMI and one DP. As in good old analog days, you have to split a single output and connect to devices that play the same sound. In his case, I would use an HDMI splitter, take the image and audio from HDMI, split it in two outputs and connect one display with HDMI and the other either with HDMI or using an HDMI to DP adapter. Both monitors will play the same video at the same resolution and output the same audio.

According to Ghot, he can do it, two different devices connected simultaneously to the same computer, one by HDMI and one by DP. He can have the same stream on both, or different streams.

@Ghot - what is hte methodology, just use Windows 11 audio panel, or another audio panel, or a 3rd party app (which I doubt because you'd have already mentioned that lol).

I just thought about mirroring, that is configure both monitors display the same image, but I am not sure that this also makes them play the same audio. Never had two digital monitors to try it, so I cannot tell about sound.
