Solved Post 22581.1 update issue... (Intel Drivers)

Is anyone else having this problem? I use the "Intel Driver & Support Assistant" and it says I'm completely up to date. However, AFTER updating to 22581.100 Windows Update now finds two Intel drivers (that I'm not positive, but I think are lower version numbers than the Intel App said) that are in a constant fail loop.



If possible, how do I clear this out so I don't see/have the errors and/or block these two specific updates? (There used to be three, but one of them must have fixed itself cause it disappeared).

My experience has been to avoid using Windows Updates for drivers. In fact, I don't update drivers unless I have a specific problem. The following link has a "Show or Hide Updates" solution.

Here is another way to hide the updates, which is the one I have started using.

The thing is, the drivers in the windows update depository many times have different numbers than the ones you get from Intel so you cannot go by the version number to determine if a driver is newer or not. MS has their own version number. Intel has theirs. It's a bunch of crap and confusing for consumers. I try to stick to the ones from the manufacturer, especially chipset, storage controller drivers, and bios drivers.

These instructions worked in Windows 10 and says it applies to 11 as well. I think you will find the answer you are looking buried in this very detailed article.

I used the Windows Update Troubleshooter to hide the drivers and it took like an hour for them to disappear, but Windows Update is working again (it downloaded a new Defender list).

I ended up having to disable driver updates from Windows as it kept installing older intel drivers over newer ones and kept installing one bad driver that would BSOD one machine. I initially liked getting driver updates by Windows but it became a pain due to problems like yours.

Its really weird, im running an Iris rig the first time i tried to update via Intel... NOT using thier installer MS kicked it .... NOT signed, I've now updated twice using the intel driver tool go figure latest today.... 30 0 101 1631
