Just a quick update. Today is December 5, 2024. I just downloaded a massive Windows 11 update and installed it. The one thing that it did was reset my folder defaults to Details. With my fading eyesight, I sure don't care for that small print. I prefer Tiles view for all my folders. I really like using custom icons to make it easier to find the folder I am looking for. I spent hours on trying to solve the problem of Windows leaving my default alone. To no avail.
No matter what I tried, Windows would reset the view to Details default. That is until I stumbled into the WinSetView program. I remembered that I installed it. So, I launched it. I found there was an update, so I installed it. I reread the instructions. I ran the program and everything is back to normal. I want to seriously thank whomever was involved at writing this program. It has made a big differences, easing my frustrations with Windows!
Just a note on the big Windows 11 update I just installed earlier. It took about 15 minutes on a pretty beefy system and Internet connection. I also saw that all my customer icons disappeared when I rebooted (I have a lot). However, after the new OS ran for awhile, all the customer icons showed up again. I also couldn't access files in folders that were linked to OneDrive for a while.
