Prime Video stopped working on Edge

It's a weird one for sure. Not the end of the world as I watch Prime on my TV. The Prime app for Windows still works, or I can use another browser

i am going to have a look at edge:flags and see if there is anything within the flag extensions that would help
such as H264, webrtc and/or codec which maybe related.
i am using Win11 24H2 on Linux in Gnome Boxes VM and prime is working fine on edge.

Edge beta updated to the new 136 build last night, Prime video is now working again after all these months

No idea what got fixed as nothing was ever changed when it stopped working

The update may have rewritten some setting or configuration issue or replaced a damaged file.
May have something to do with digital rights to watch video, DRM.

I checked Edge Stable (135) and that still doesn't work but Beta 136 is fine now. I expect once Stable gets 136 that'll work again too.
All very strange

Yes I'm in UK. Neither Beta nor Stable would work for three months, then Beta got updated to 136 which now works, Stable 135 still doesn't.

I have had all sorts of weird, strange things happen to my PCs and starting over with a new install often times fixes things. Recently wiped out the OS, reinstalled win11 on 2 laptops that had inexplicably slowed to a crawl. And it totally fixed them back to super speedy. Both have NVME drives. One I took out the Toshiba NVME and put in a new Micron t500 NVME. The other has a WDC Blue NVME. They had gotten so slow as to be unusable. I wonder how durable NVME really is.
Just about everything I do on them is all internet related.

just an update.
I'm using Edge and have had no problems i cant even replicate the problem you are having.

the only other thing i can add is check your language settings in the browser and see if they are set to English UK/GB for prime.

edit. i had problems with Firefox on ITVX which wouldn't play any content. i tracked it down to the browser language settings which were set to English US once i had installed and set Firefox to English UK everything just worked. hence the reason to check the browser settings.

I don't watch Prime on my PC anyway, and even if I did the Windows app works fine

Like I said, use a different browser. I can't imagine this problem required a total rebuild of Windows! :unsure:
