I have two printers on my PC, a Brother and an HP, both attached wireless. ALl of a sudden I cannot reach either one from a print dialog. I can uninstall and reinstall, and I can reach the administrative parts of the printers in the browser, but when I go to print a test page I get the dialog with the message "Operation could not be completed error 0x000007d1). The specified driver is invalid.". I've cleaned out the ports, drivers, and registry entries a few times with no luck.

Not sure exactly how this did it, but:

I rolled back to a restore point from a couple days ago, still had the issues.​
Uninstalled printer drivers - reinstalled from Mfr's latest on their support sites - still no go, same messages.​
Ran Windows Update and something called "HP Image" downloaded and installed. - Voila, things started working again.​

Not sure why HP software would have affected my Brother printer, but you can't argue with results.

Maybe both printers are using an HP wireless module?

Not really sure, but at least you got it working!

HP have had "flakey" drivers / software since Windows 10 for my 2 printers.

They cant make up their mind if the installer from "Smart app" or the general download installer should be used.

The latter is preferred for all print quality / scanner properties , but does not always load properly , especially in Windows 11

what kind of flaky HP drivers? and for which HP printer models? be specific on these you guys.

my HP ENVY printers (HP Envy 4500 and HP Envy Photo 7800 series) with their latest drivers installed work fine on Win11 with no issues

I have a Lexmark e120n. I sent a page to print. No sign of it or an error message. Three hours later, out popped the page.

That has nothing to do with it, you are using a preview version of Windows 11 and drivers arent' released by HP or Brother or any other thing yet. Have a wonderful day Almighty1, though please do respect other people's opinions. Thank you :)
 
I have the same IP Dev version as the OP with an HP LaserJetPro M148dw and an HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 with no issue but they are connected to my Router via Ethernet cable which allows both Wired and Wireless/Wi-Fi access from my other computers.

Ofcourse it does because for some printers like mines which is considered high-end, HP Officejet Pro X576dw has not actually had any drivers released since Windows 7 unless one uses the Universal Print drivers. I didn't have any problems as long as I reinstall the same version of the drivers over the existing drivers. That last comment wasn't necessary as like anything else, it's a opinion which is why I said I think. So if it has Windows 10 drivers, then that should be better.

My printer (HP Envy 4507) had been flaky since early Windows 10 until I gave it a static IP address and stopped auto off. Rock solid since.

I didn't have any problems as long as I reinstall the same version of the drivers over the existing drivers. That last comment wasn't necessary as like anything else, it's a opinion which is why I said I think. So if it has Windows 10 drivers, then that should be better.
