Hi I have a Dell Latitude 3510 windows 11 Home Version 24H2 OS Build 26100.6725. I have 16 gigs of memory. I am so frustrated it wont download the latest version of windows 11 which is 25-09 Cumulative Update for windows 11 Version 24H2 for X64-based systems (KB5065426) (26100.6725 is available,) it says. Does anyone know what do do about this?

Disable your antivirus if you use a 3rd party one. Microsoft Defender should be ok.
People have found this to be an option to fix Windows Updates.

You could also try resetting Windows Update to see if it helps.

Are you using Media Creation Tool for the download ?
Have you run Settings > System >Troubleshoot >Other Troubleshooters to see if it has any entries ?

General steps for failing windows updates.

1. Run troubleshooter-settings-system-troubleshoot-other troubleshooters-windows update-RUN.

2. Reset Windows update using Brink's tutorial Reset Windows Update in Windows 11 Tutorial

3. Open command prompt as administrator. Enter this command.
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Restart computer

4. CLEAN UP COMPONENT STORE - dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
Analyze and Clean Up Component Store (WinSxS folder) in Windows 11 Tutorial

5. Make sure you have no corrupt system files that is causing this problem. Open a command prompt as administrator and type
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

When complete restart. Then open command prompt as admin again and run sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair

6. Do a repair install. This usually works when nothing else will. Repair Install Windows 11 with an In-place Upgrade Tutorial

Disable your antivirus if you use a 3rd party one. Microsoft Defender should be ok.
People have found this to be an option to fix Windows Updates.
I do not have a third party virus.

You can try deleting the Windows Update cache and restart.

1) Open Task Manager and go to Services tab.
2) Find wuserv (Windows Update Service) and click to stop it.
3) Open the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder.
4) Select all contents (CTRL+A) and press DEL to delete them (move to Recycle Bin) or SHIFT+DEL (delete permanently).
5) Go back to Task Manager, Services and click to start wuserv again.
6) Restart and check Windows Update for new updates.
I found it wuaserv is already stopped.

You could always download it manually then instal it

Ok I did this and it failed.

I have done all the above previously except a repair install. I will try that. Thanks!

OK, I had to do a total Dell OS Recovery Tool recovery.. So it will take some time for all that I will let you know what happens. Thanks

I used the Dell OS Recovery and it worked. It took hours to download it was unbelievable! I just now got finished with the download and it is 7pm I started at 11:00am. So yeah that was crazy! Thanks all for the input.
