In my Desktop, does it make any difference if I set This PC as my default(?) or should I stay with Quick Acess? My real concern is if changes might cause confusion when I add to or change folders related to my <username>. Thanks

I just consider Quick Access and Libraries as shortcuts to the actual folders in C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE under This PC, C: drive. It shouldn't make any difference in speed but might test by hiding both in File Explorer.

I found for the way I operate I want my PC and I want it to open to a specific drive so I set it to
Screenshot 2021-12-21 161016.jpg
It then opens to the D:drive. Everyone's needs are different so why not try it and if it's not right for you change it back

I've always found Quick Access confusing, so I change things to My PC.

Yep, single click is the way to go. It's a shame Microsoft tries to hide things from us in Windows 11.

Guess I'm in the minority but I've preferred opening to Quick Access for years as I like it taking me straight to my most commonly used folders.

If you change Quick Access to "This PC", everytime you click that icon, it will take you to the list of Drives. . If you leave it as Quick Access, it'll take you to all of your Quick Access folders. .. I changed mine to This PC. It won't have any bearing on your <username>

All I see it open is the same folders you can open from This PC.
I`m sure you could pin more items to it, I don`t use it so I don`t know.
But it sounds redundant.
