OS
Windows 11 [22H2] [22621.2428]
I installed version 22h2 22621.3520 did my usual tweaks, but I can't get my top explorer bar looking like how it used to;

now:

It doesn't matter which of these options I choose in startallback;
1714251019328.pngNone of them end up looking like how I had it. I think it was just win11 bar, but that looks like this:
1714251053086.pngwhich is close with the top bit, but has that ribbon I can't seem to get rid of.

Anyone?

Thanks.

It had adverse affects for me.

However, looking at your first screenshot, which is what you had and want, it seems you've got more tweaks at work there than just StartAllBack!

According to the OP's 1st screenshot, it looks as if they may be running UX Theme Patcher, or similar.
Extremely unforgiving utilities, especially with the direction Explorer is going!

Sorry for the late reply guys I don't seem to be getting email notifications..

Yeah I patch with UX or ThemeTool, and use the 22H2 Nord theme I slightly modified, aside from a theme and startallback, those are the only customization tools I use (aside from WinaeroTweaker, but I've never touched any options in that to change explorer windows etc, just like startup sound and unrelated things.) mica effect does nothing I've ever noticed but I did already try that. I'm gonna have to look back at what version I was on back then and just go back to that.

I tried the reg key posted and opened explorer after rebooting;
1714328275148.png

closed..opened again,
1714328300181.png

seems to be 'stable' like this.. not quite what I had but it'll do. some janky things going on in these newer builds..

thanks for the reg key link.

edit 2: I changed it from 11/10/7 explorer bars in SAB and now on 7 it looks as it should. weird, I never had to use that reg edit before, oh well sorted! :) thanks again

edit3: when I logout, there's an exception from explorer with a bunch of numbers, and after logging back in/rebooting again, it's wrong:

1714328865703.png

guess this build is just fully janked with custom themes? definitely gonna need to go back and find the one I had that worked last fine. no more trying new builds I guess until I know this is sorted.

Edit4: Looks like UX Patcher was updated 4 days ago. tried that version, I still need to switch between W11/W7 bars in SAB to get mine 'back', and then it resets to blank after a reboot (but no explorer error anymore).

Changes 4.4.2 (2024-04-24)

1) the nav pane can be modified easily with winaero tweaker to resemble your first screenshot

2) the menu bar can be hidden with one of many tweaks. That will get rid of “file”, etc.

3) is that icon in the titlebar, to the left of the minimize button, DisplayFusion? If so, did you apply any mods via DF?
