RAM upgrade Asus Vivobook 15 M513U

I found a revieeer that said I could replace the 4gb RAM with a 16GB chip to give 20GB
But elsewhere it says I can only change the 4GB for 8GB
Wonder which is correct
Also how do I match the new RAM to the installed ( soldered ) RAM to ensure no problems

The 4GB chip is soldered but of course a real expert with soldering might be able to replace chip. Finding such an expert is probably near impossible.

The risk of screwing up device is far too high.

Anyway, how does maths work? Replace 4GB with 16GB and get 20GB?

I smell cow dung in that review.

Even if you put in bigger chips in the expansion slot, no guarantee pc will access more than 8GB as that is probably limitation in firmware.

One thing is for sure, it item is under warrantly, the warranty will no longer be valid.

12 GB is usually adequate for most users unless you intend to run more than one virtual machine at a time.

Can't find a support email for Asus to confirm, need to see if I have 2400 or 3200 ram, crucial list 16gb 3200 as an upgrade option

Yes correct, although Asus state only 12GB if 4GB soldered so

both state that an upgrade of 16GB of RAM is viable.
