Hi, first things first - seeing you have an older GPU driver and the BSOD is GPU related - install the latest GPU driver from manufacturer (AMD) - in case you used the OEM Driver.

As in: AMD Radeon™ RX 7900 XTX Drivers - select Windows 11 - 64 Bit Edition - > AMD Software: Adrenalin 24.7.1 (WHQL Recommended)

But first, do a clean install with: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)

Extract it. Next, press Win Key + R and type msconfig - click on the Boot tab and check Safe Bot - then restart in Safe Mode. Unplug your Network Cable or Disable your Ethernet/Wi-Fi. While in Safe Mode - run msconfig again - go to the same tab and uncheck Safe Bot - "but do not restart yet" Run DDU from the extracted location - select AMD GPU and clean/remove all AMD content - while selecting to restart after completion.

And now you install the Driver - with Network Cable still unplugged or Wi-FI Disabled. Only after finishing the installation and restarting Windows as requested - plug the NW Cable back (or enable Wi-Fi).

Correction: The BSOD seems to be related to AMD Chipset or the CPU itself (overheating maybe  ), tho - the GPU did use older drivers (a version from 2023).

I see you already have the latest BIOS, did you install the latest AMD Chipset Driver [5.11.02.217] - as well?

If that too is installed, download an active CPU temp monitoring tool such as: HWMONITOR 1.54

Also download a CPU stress tool like: Prime95 Version 30.19 build 20

Extract both, but start HW Monitor first, followed by Prime 95 2nd. You can leave the default settings on Prime 94, just know that once you pressed Ok - the stress test already started. During this time - check the Temperatures on HW Monitor.

If the CPU is overheating or problematic (this line of CPUs is more sensible to RAM issues - so that too could cause cause a BSOD) - quite likely will crash during the stress test.

The V2 findings are almost always seen with malfunctioning hardware.

What is the warranty status?

Was any hardware replaced earlier this year? CPU?

Which motherboard rev?

rev. 1.0/1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4

B550 GAMING X V2

Please perform the following steps:

1) Run Tuneup plus > post a share link

2) Turn off Windows fast startup:

3) Create a new restore point:

3) Run: Memtest86+ for 8 or more passes > take pictures > post images or share links

4) Run: Prime95 continuous 3 hrs > record continuous testing time, Tmax, post images or share links

Hello,

I already tested my hardware with all the tests from OCCT and 8 passes from memtest, no error.
My motherboard is rev 1.4, no warranty anymore.
Chipset driver up to date.
I am now testing with the other tools I will let you know

Surprisingly, the system seems fairly stable - hardware wise. Did you get any BSOD during the tests or after?

You didn't give any info on the occurrence of said BSOD.

Where you using some demanding app at that time (playing a game and such)? Or was it... just random?

Did you make any changes on a BIOS level or you have it set to Defaults?

Did Norton came with the PC or is it something you installed along the way?

===================================================

One last test for CPU:

And also try something more comprehensive for GPU (closer to everyday use scenarios like gaming on modern titles):

Boundary: Benchmark

There were BSOD in November and December 2023.

There were no BSOD January > May.

BSOD restarted June 2024.

What was found in December 2023?

What was modified / changed? driver, operating system, BIOS, hardware?

Tuneup plus results were good.

Software used to stress test hardware often report pass when there is malfunctioning hardware (false negatives).

Swap testing is typically required.

See if you can find CPU and motherboard for swap testing.

Hello
This computer is used mainly for games. I have BSOD after several hours of use. But never happened during stress tests. I find this strange because stress tests are using hardware more intensivly
Nothing particular happened between January and May, other than windows updates, and maybe different games played.

I did reset BIOS to default recently, after the BIOS update, and BSOD still occurred after that.
