Random mouse left-click problem

Hi everybody

I have a noname USB vertical mouse.
I've been using the same kind of vertical mice for years, usually changing them every couple of years or so. They're not very solid, but they work perfectly.

This one (the latest) also works perfectly with Win 11, except for one annoying issue. From time to time (generally once every couple days, but sometimes several times a day), a mere left-click will not be recognized as a left-click but as something else.

That "something else" seems to be a combination of "d" character AND "previous page" button !

For example, let's say that I'm typing this message. At some point I need my mouse, to put the cursor on a particular place.
So I left-click on the precise place where I want the cursor.

If the issue "decides" to be triggered at that moment, here's what will happen:
- A "d" character will be typed at the place where the cursor was before left-clicking
- My browser will go back to the previous web page in the current tab.

That means that from my user point of view, I will see this :
- Suddenly the message I was typing disappears, because I've been redirected to another web page (the previous one if there is a previous one in the current tab, otherwise I'm not redirected at all)
- Going back to this page (typing "Next") brings back the message I was typing, and then I can see the "d" character
- Obviously if I'm not redirected, I will simply see that "d" character being typed

I have no idea of where this issue may come from:
- Is it a driver issue? (my mouse uses a generic Win 11 driver)
- Is it a hardware issue? (something wrong within my mouse)
- Is it a Win 11 issue?

Having a mouse type a "d" character when left-clicking looks rather unusual to me But maybe you guys have already seen that?

Sorry no one has answered you sooner. I would say this is a sign of a flaky mouse. I tend to be like you. I've used the same model Logitech wireless mouse for years because it's small and fits my hand perfectly. It also uses the Windows driver. A mouse usually lasts me about 6 months before it starts doing squirrelly stuff. Logitech doesn't even make them anymore so every time I run across the old stock being sold, I buy several.

Try a different mouse to prove it. Maybe swap with someone else for a few days if you don't have a spare..

dont know for sure that either of those would cause that exact hiccup, but i would start there

Thank you. I have just checked for peace of mind, and both of these settings are correct (no checkboxes ticked). The problem must be elsewhere.
