Solved Realtek Driver Issue with Windows 11

Windows 11
I bought a new PC with the following components.
1. Motherboard: B760I Aorus Pro DDR4
2. Processor: Intel 13700KF
3. Graphics Card: RTX 3060
After configuring everything I saw the audio driver is not working. Initially, I tried the windows troubleshooting option. Then I reinstalled windows several times to see whether that makes the driver work. Then I tried downloading the latest driver from the intended official website and added the device through the "Add Legacy Hardware" option which raises an exception, and the windows entered a strange state. Here is a picture for reference.

I saw the audio port working in ubuntu so I assume there is no issue with the hardware.

I would really appreciate it if some body can help me to resolve this issue. For convinience here is my system information.

I'm not sure why you would chose to install legacy hardware. That is a completely modern, up to date MB that supports Windows 11.

Did you try to specifically install the audio driver from Gigabyte for that MB? You can find that driver here:

EDIT: Make sure to select Windows 11 as the OS so that the correct driver is presented to you.

EDIT 2: Too quick to send my message. I know that you said that you downloaded the driver from their web site, I just want to make sure you got the correct one. I would try the DCH driver first, but there is also another driver there for the audio on Win 11.

Hello,

hsehestedt Thanks for the early reply. As you have noticed I have tried installing the exact driver you told me about. If you don't mind could you please elaborate on your edit 2? I don't quite get it...!

Sure, take a look at the screenshot below. Note that there are two drivers. The first one is the DCH driver. The second is the non-DCH driver. Did you try both of these?

Instead of fiddling with an issue on a newly bought PC, just return it and have them properly service it.

Additionally, for a modern PC running Windows 11, I find it odd Secure Boot is disabled. Makes me wonder what else hasn't been done properly

hsehestedt, Actually I have tried installing both. Both are raising the same error as I mentioned. I really appreciate your time for me. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Dru2, I agree with you on this. But I want to give it a try on my own before bringing it to service.

Your PC is showing NVIDIA audio drivers, not Realtek. I ran into a similar issue after installing an NVIDIA video card. So, I went into Device Manager, uninstalled the NVIDIA drivers and reinstalled the Reatek drivers from the motherboard site. You should see if removing the NVIDIA drivers helps the solve the problem.

Hi,
try the official Diagnostic Program provided by Realtek to see even if detects the card -https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/network-interface-controllers-10-100-1000m-gigabit-ethernet-pci-express-software.
Check also with some free hardware program like HWInfo just to check if the realtek card is detected. Otherwise it may be a hardware defect.

Okay I was just double checking. SO, if that is the case then it is a hardware issue IMHO.

If it is connected in the Bios/Uefi, the Device Manager should show it. Or as an unidentified device (exclamation mark).

I find it a little challenging to move the PC quickly. However, the vendor agreed to look into the issue. I think I can bring the system there by Tuesday. I will update the status once I check it with the vendor. Thanks for the support and patience.

abactuon, I will try that on Monday and inform you about the outcome. I appreciate your support.
