OS
Windows 11
I have a dual boot system between Windows 11 and Linux Mint 21.3. Linux is booting fine from Grub, but the Windows installation is not listed. I did some investigation and my EFI partition only has info for the Linux install. The Window data is gone.

How can I rebuild the EFI partition so that both OSes can be booted?

I don't have the Build/Version number for Windows as I can't boot into it. It is Windows 11 with the most recent updates as of yesterday.

Do you want the Windows entry to show up in GRUB2?

Wait...are you sure Windows EFI bootloader is missing from the EFI partition?

You have 2 drives, one for Windows and one for Linux. I assume your Windows EFI is on the 1TB drive and Linux one (GRUB2) on the 500GB one.

Hi,
Restore a system image or use the recovery WinRE features by powering off and starting up repeatedly until winRE kicks in.
Latest updates would still be 23h2
Just download it and use it.

Go to bios and use it's boot menu instead of grub
Secure boot seems to have failed to save the windows if you just boot to linux again.

Yes, I want the Windows entry to show up in Grub2.

Actually, it's funny that you mentioned that... It turns out that the SATA cable had come loose from the Windows drive. It wasn't the EFI partition all all. It was just me being clumsy.

Sorry, this is a different system than the one listed as in My Computers here. Windows is on a 120GB SSD. Linux is on a 500GB NVME. The EFI partition and Grub2 is installed on the 500GB drive.

Problem is fixed though... Just a loose cable.

I thought that the BIOS boot menu would work, but the drive wasn't listed...

Seems that I knocked a SATA cable loose installing the new 500GB NVME drive. THAT was the cause of my issue. :ROFLMAO:

Everything is working fine now.
