I don't see the new boot menu. I have the legacy boot menu since multi boot was already setup.

@Edwin , is it true that one doesn't get Windows cumulative updates using it, just security updates?

Do I need to purchase it and care to post it's site. Alongside Winero, VMware Pro?

Is Rectify11 and other 2 apps user friendly to customize W11?

Thanks and kind regards!

Since I'm in their discord and following what's going on here's a few tidbits of info.
What you guys installed is probably the v2.5 that was on their website. That version is discontinued, and you can't find it on their website anymore. Some said it's because some installs became preactivated somehow, others cited potential problems from Microsoft. All in all, it's gone, and they're working on v3 now which is coming SOON™️. It's been delayed a couple of times. They had a v3 public beta, but it had issues. You had to disable Windows Defender during the installation, or you'd probably brick your system. A lot of people also had problems with Windows Update (myself included, though it somehow got fixed by itself). That's why they're doing a rewrite from the ground up.

A huge change from v2.5 to v3 is that it's no longer going to be an .iso, instead it's what they call a transformation pack AKA an installer that patches your current Win11 installation. The things included are
  • Custom dark theme (msstyles) that's used throughout the system including all the Win32 stuff (Control Panel, Explorer, old dialogs, etc) which works great with MicaForEveryone (comes included); I've made a post about it here
  • New icons where needed
  • A new cursor pack
  • AccentColorizer which makes Windows use your accent color in more places than it already does
  • Their fork of Explorer Patcher, maybe? I'm not sure if that's still the plan or if they've scrapped it
  • A replacement for winver.exe that has transparency (Mica)
  • A few new backgrounds
  • Potentially adds transparency to the old context menu, not yet confirmed
  • Nilesoft Shell, if you don't like the context menu mentioned above
All in all, it's pretty good. I wouldn't write all this about it if I didn't like it. The best thing for me is definitely the transparency across the whole OS. It really makes it feel like Windows 12, all futuristic and glassy.

I found Rectify11, ver. 2.5 at Github, and ver. 3.0 that is still in beta and isn't downloadable/executable atm.
Also Winaero and I don't think would require VMware workstation Pro player, VMware player would probably do the job.

Thanks again.

2. After installing W11 with Rectify, and a new version of Rectify is released, can it be run over the earlier created running W11, or would need to recreate from scratch?

3. Would you recommend giving a test run in VMware player, before installing?

4. Care to share it's pros and cons over MS W11?

5. Any tutorial link on how to install?

Thanks.

I ditched Rectify a while ago!
It incorporates UltraUXThemePatcher, which, after 2 decades, still screws up a bunch of stuff!

1. Once v3 is out, it won't affect updates in any way, so you will get every update that MS pushes out.
2. I'm not sure what their plans for future updates are, but you can always uninstall Rectify and it will revert the changes it did, so then you can install the newer version
3. Ofc, there's no downsides to testing it in a VM, other than spending a bit of time on it
4. It looks better, that's the whole point (as I said in my previous post, new icons, new dark theme, more transparency, etc...)
5. You won't need a tutorial, it's just a regular installer where you click next, next, and it does everything for you

A public preview of v3 is out, but I wouldn't recommend installing it, it has some problems. Wait for the official v3.

As for UltraUXThemePatcher, yes it's a crucial part of Rectify. I don't know how it is since I'm using SecureUXTheme instead. I haven't noticed any problems with it, and it basically does the same thing.

Thanks for the very detailed and a clear reply.
I'll try with SecureUXTheme .
Are you using Rectify ver 2.8.9 or 2.5. How do you find your Windows?
I cant configure VMware...

I think I'm using the 2.9.8 or whatever it was. Don't use that one, and don't use v2.5. If you want to test it out in a VM use the v3.0 preview. And don't forget to disable windows defender before you start the Rectify installation, otherwise you'll probably brick the installation.

As for SecureUXTheme, it doesn't matter in a VM, so I wouldn't bother with it. If you want to try that one, you'll have to cancel the UltraUXThemePatcher installation once it starts (just click cancel on the window when it shows up).

And the VMware stuff, I don't know, haven't used it in quite a bit. Try using Oracle's VirtualBox if you can't figure it out, I think it's easier.

Thanks again for the headsup, will give ver. 3.0 Pre-release a try with SecureUXTheme.
When official/stable 3.0 is released would have to uninstall this prerelease and reinstall...….correct?
@MaRio , 1st to run the Rectify installer and than the windowsdesktop-runtime-6.0.7-win-x64.exe.......Correct?

Regards!

PS: Markella's made from pre release 3.0 too.

I think the desktop runtime is a requirement for the installer to work, but if it works already then you're fine.
And yes, once the stable version is released you can uninstall the one you have and then install the new one.

It works both in downloads and as a desktop run time, but as admin only.
What others, in installation be checked?
All ignore should remain unchecked?
