Recycle Bin fullness

My Recycle Bin is always full, mostly with temp files. My other PC which is W10 has always empty Recycle Bin. Is this W11 issue? Who/what is responsible? In W10, the only few files I sometimes find in RB are those I had deleted.

Hard to tell you much without more information. Can you screenshoot or let members know the most common file in the recycle bin, name?

Syncing software can create a lot of temp files that end up in the bin. Do you use any?
So can PLEX if you use it, probably many other things.
I don’t believe Windows itself is doing this, but something you have installed. I could be wrong.

It should only contain what you put in there unless you've set something to do some house keeping

What does it say in the "Original Location" column?
If we can find out where they are coming from we can most likely finds the culprit.

For some reason, my screenshots are showing as blank?

Open Recycle Bin, look at the Original Location column and tell us what you see for the majority of the files.

If you have an external USB drive attached, any files that were deleted from this or other drives not C: will send the files to the Recycle Bin.
If you unplug the external drive without emptying the Recycle Bin, those files will still be there even if you had emptied the Recycle Bin with it not attached.

If you plug in all drives and run Disk Cleanup, it will remove all files from the Recycle Bin.

I emptied it two days ago and now it has 163 items that I did not put there. Something is doing this. This does not happen in my other PC which is W 10 which incidentally is expiring next month; I have to upgrade to W11.

These are all files in your Temp folder.
Do you have a 3rd party app like a security app that automatically deletes Temp files?
