it would help to know which registry keys are involved please.

I tried to install a .reg file to change the setting home page and it didnt take
What is that supposed to mean? It didn't work at all? It worked, but the changes did not stick (i.e. get reverted after logout and/or reboot)? Something else?

It would be helpful if you could answer Steves question. Some registry changes need to be performed at a higher privilege than administrator, some keys you just can not change. By not providing what is asked of you, it would seem pointless you asking for help in this forum.

You can run Regedit with the highest privileges via this app. Read the documentation, it’s quite easy.

Please be more clear about what you want to change and where you acquired your regedit info. What home page?

All good. Running regedit with higher privileges may not necessarily fix your issue. Like I said, some keys can’t be changed or just revert back.
