Reinstalling Windows 11

Its a software device. You need to scroll right down to the bottom to find it. Have another look at my screenshot earlier.

You cannot delete the driver files while the system is running with them still being registered. As a last resort, boot from something else such as booting a Windows install usb to a command prompt. Now while your Windows system isn't running you can delete the files using the command prompt.

You should also be able to delete them from a command prompt when booted to the WinRE recovery environment and choosing the Command Prompt option.

I very much appreciate you trying to help me but I think I am at the point of letting it alone. I do not feel comfortable doing anything like you're suggesting in the last parts of your post. Also I am a bit confused about this," Its a software device. You need to scroll right down to the bottom to find it. Have another look at my screenshot earlier." I looked again at all your screenshots and I do not have anything that I can identify as WD and no idea about the rcblan.sys driver. In my searching the computer for the latter I find 4 instances of it, 3 of them in Program Files (86) folder and 1 in system32/DriverStore folder. I am wondering if because this computer was originally Windows 10 Pro for 2 years if that could be affecting what is showing up in my device manager. I took another screenshot and will attach it for you to see. You already saw the upper part and this shows the lower portion all the way to the bottom with hidden devices shown. Again I really do want to thank you for all your help.

Yes I did and I checked its properties and that didn't seem to tell me anything I could use to remove the 2 sys files I need to get rid of. Please see the attachment.Yellow.jpg

Might want to try REVO uninstaller (free)... see if anything labeled "Daemon" shows up in there.
Some drivers show up in there.

Another program that might be useful is Autoruns, on the "Driver" tab.
Actually, might want to try this one... first.

Autoruns will allow you to disable anything from automatically running at start up.
In the case of a driver... this will allow it to be uninstalled, if desired.
You can see from the scroll bar, that there's a lot more drivers than shown in the pic. For example...

I'm glad you mentioned that. I have had Autoruns.exe installed on that machine for almost 2 years now but never thought about checking it for this problem. I will do that now.

Just ran Autoruns.exe, searched for wdcsam64_prewin8.sys and rcblan.sys and it found nothing. I then looked on the Drivers tab and still found nothing. This is very confusing. Thanks for your help.

Did you check for anything called Daemon?

I did not search for Daemon but I did search for Western Digital and all sys files. I will uncheck that box and search again. Thanks for the suggestion.

I just did a thorough search of every sys file under the Driver tab and looked at everything under the Everything tab. I searched for Daemon and there was nothing at all. I searched for the 2 sys files and there was nothing at all. The only way I can find them is when I use that Everything search engine but it will not let me delete them. I have been told to be very cautious of deleting anything in the System folder.

I still wonder if the reason I cannot see them in the Device manager is because this was a Win 10 machine for 2 years. Also, even though the Daemon driver in Device Manager shows a caution triangle I don't think it is related to the 2 sys files that are causing me trouble. When I check its Properties it says Daemon Tools Lite Virtual SCSI Bus, whatever that is. So even if I found that in Autoruns I don't think I should delete it but, again, it is not to be found.

Seems very confusing to me but I did look at every entry in both Auroruns and the Autorun Entry and the Image Path columns and found nothing.
