Solved remove McAfee security on Lenovo Vantage

I have completely removed the oem installed McAfee security using McAfee MCRP and Revo; however, the Lenovo McAfee security in Lenovo Vantage Service continually nags me.

Installed apps includes:
  • Lenovo Now
  • Lenovo Vantage Now
  • Lenovo Advantage
Can I merely uninstall these apps, or do I need to use Revo to do a complete removal?

You can use AutoRuns utility to delete those services if you cannot uninstall them using Revo Uninstaller.

Those services can be reinstalled by Windows Update, you might need to disable driver updates using the batch script i have attached.

Lenovo Now - Right click uninstall. Pointless App.

Lenovo Vantage - I keep this for various updates, BIOS/UEFI, sound, graphics drivers.
Thermal mode, GPU working mode.

McAfee I used for the trial month, configured it, when that ran out just uninstalled, I did not have to use MCPR.

I won't use Revo because of damage to previous Windows installations.

MS Autoruns and Process Explorer I have, but not needed in this case.

You should be able to uninstall them normally via control panel or the settings window.
But REVO is brilliant. Due to them being Lenovo files, don’t ask Revo to scan for leftovers. It may be better.

The programs aren’t totally useless but they can be uninstalled if you would proffer to have total control yourself. For my Lenovo, I find the ability to control how charging and battery use is sorted. I also appreciate the updater. But most of all, whilst the Lenovo YOGA I have is still under warranty and has a service agreement, I have chosen to leave the programs installed.

I don’t know why you’re getting nagged, I don’t.

P.S. Always backup your system before making changes like this. Otherwise any damage to the installation is really the fault of the user. Backups/images are essential.

So far I have uninstalled all apps related to Lenovo, found no leftovers in Revo, downloaded autoruns and edited my startups.
Likewise, I have downloaded your batch script. What should I do with it?

Execute it by double-click on it, and you will ask if you want to turn off driver updates type y letter and press enter key.
