Replacement Front I/O Ports Question

Hello All

Asked Lian Li about issue with my USB C port when i plug a cable into it being very loose, and devices either not recognized or have issues charging like my Galaxy Buds at times

The support folks sent out 2 day delivery a replacement front I/0 (Includes Power, Reset, 2 Type A USB 3.0, and 1 USB C USB 3.2 10gig port) all the way from Taiwan, i just have to find the time to install it with my annoying Real Life unforuately.

Now whats the best way to keep the usb C port from failing again once i get it installed the replacement? and hopefully i have no issues wiring up the replacement, and doesn't take me too long, i typically don't get too long of peace and quiet, sometimes an hour if im lucky


This is on a Lian Li Lancool 216 ARGB case

I've had trouble with USB-C ports becoming loose over time. What I did was to use a USB-C extension cable from the USB-C connector on the back of my motherboard. That way I am only wearing out the connector on the extension cable. I would rather break a $10 cable than have to repair the front panel or the rear connector on my motherboard.

I dunno, YMMV, but that solution works for me.

Yeah gonna purchase a usb extension cable soon as i can here

Then get the Replacement Front I/O in as soon as i have time to

Then use front one only when absolutely needed, and same for rear port as well--even with the extension cable

Update:

Finally had the time to install, might have to re manage front usb C cable in the future, but for now its working fine in the front---I can re manage that cable when i do the next system dust clean out in a month or so, its not in way of any fan right now, just a bit too much in visual side of case at moment...guess i fed too much thru lol oops



Just testing right now, then gonna only use it if have to, til i get the usb C extension cable, and then primarily will use the rear one

Wiring the connections wasn't too bad after all, then figuring out which way went on wasn't hard at all, sure is alot of wires with the Front RGB Fans, and such, cable managing wasn't too hard come to find out.

Don't want port to become loose like it was on the old Front I/O part
