OS
11, (10 as a test secondary)
Specs:

  • cpu 7950x3d
  • gpu Asus Prime rtx 5080 (on driver 591.74 Mon Jan 05, 2026)
  • ram Kingston FURY Beast Black 32GB 2x16 5600 KF556C36BBEK2-32
  • PSU Seasonic prime GX-1300 watts (i'm using the PSU's offical two 8 pin to 12vhpwr cable)
  • mobo MSI MPG X670E (bios 7D70v1L 2024-10-21)
  • Windows 11 (23H2)

I got a RTX 5080 less than 2 weeks ago, so far on 2 occasions when i put my computer on standby, it would fail to resume and my computer reboots itself (it doesn't happen everytime i put it on stand by). This has never happened before on my old 1080ti.

Is this a faulty gpu issue, or some sort of PCIE-5 compatibility issue with my motherboard & GPU and requires BIOs update?

other notes:
  1. used DDU to uninstalled 1080ti drivers before installing RTX 5080
  2. i'm running stock jedec specs on my ram (4800). cpu and gpu are running stock settings.
  3. I made sure my PSU cables are connected properly with no gaps, Seasonic verified the pictures i sent was properly connected and psu cable isn't bent beyond specs.
  4. I disabled integrated gpu in my bios, same issue.
  5. sfc /verifyonly shows no issue.
