I have been requested to update the firmware for my SSD's by Samsung Magician. I clicked to update ALL and after 2.5 hours it still says Firmware Update in Progress.
I have a 400mbps Internet, so download speed it not the problem. It seems to be stuck somewhere. I restarted the PC, and it seems to work OK, but the update has not been done.
I am running Trend Micro Maximum Security as my AntiVirus, but AI seems to imply that this should not be a problem.

Anyone else encountered this problem and got a solution. I am reluctant to try again.

For the upgrade to happen Firmware needs to be downloaded on your storage drive because it was only downloading, so there was no firmware upgrade.

Same here. Update the drives one by one, instead of clicking 'update all'. The installation takes just a few seconds. Then it shuts down the PC. Start it up again, repeat for the next drive. If you get a red 'failed to update' error just close Magician (make sure the app is quit entirely), open it again and it should work next time. The issue seems to be with updating all drives at once.

Thank you, updating one by one worked perfectly!

There was an option to download the iso directly but Windows Disc Image Burner doesn't see USB drives, only installed CD/DVD-ROM drives.
So I tried Rufus but Rufus generates a message that the downloaded iso fails some test and may have malware.

I tried running Magician again this morning, same thing.
I rebooted and ran Magician again and the option to upgrade the firmware is gone. Still running 4B2QJXD7

I have found that if you install Magician and do not let it start with windows that it will update the firmware but it will download it first then you will have to shut down your PC.

The video was the solution!
Burned the ISO to a USB stick using Rufus.
Entered BIOS and disabled VDM
Changed boot drive to USB, rebooted, followed prompts.
Exited, re-entered BIOS, enabled VDM changed back to Windows Boot Manager, rebooted.
Checked Magician and it shows the latest firmware having been applied.

Thank you. :)

That's what I saw. I'm guessing they pulled the firmware update not because the update was bad but the installation process was unreliable.
Some people had success, others had to jump through too many hoops, for others it didn't work at all (like me).

Downloading the iso, burning it to a usb flash drive, turning off VMD in the BIOS, and booting to the flash drive worked for me.
See the video.
