Sanity check on build parts list sought

I mean, given my intended usage, 3600 is pretty much overkill....and for all the FPS players reading..yes I know the maxim..I've already opened fire, now I just need to reload.

If I may. Long time Ryzen user, since first day they were on sale. Started with 1600x and went thru every generation.
Ryzen "loves" fast RAM, gets better performance with it. Although 5000 series can run 4000MHz+. 3600MHz Cl16 is a point of diminishing returns. It's also best buy as lower speed RAM is not much cheaper.
Fast RAM is not beneficial for games only, everything uses RAM equally.
Which GPU are you going to get ? 5700x does not have IGPU.
5700x is not a hot processor, you don't need much of case cooling, one 140mm in front as intake and one in back or top (depending on how CPU cooler is oriented) should be quite enough. only difference can make a hot GPU . Very often GPUs are hottest part of whole PC but also difficult to cool as they don't have clear in and out air pass but are essentially just churning air inside the case.
As for case fans, main attribute to look for is how quiet they are, the rest of performance (CFM and static pressure) is quite similar with all of them. Larger fans tend to require lower RPM so are inherently quieter.

right now, my plan is to 'borrow' the zotac brand nvidia geforce 1030gt thats in my current rig, basket case, for general system setup and component function checks, then, in june, I'll be ordering the intended permanent gpu.

this is my selected gpu: https://www.microcenter.com/product...hter_Dual-Fan_8GB_GDDR6_PCIe_40_Graphics_Card

I intend to set up the front fans, cpu cooler and rear, in a 'in from the front, out from the back' configuration, I'm uncertain how to configure the top fans and bottom fan, since the basement will be the domain of at least SOME excess/unused cables, and may well elect to omit the bottom fan.

the system is going to be laid on its side due to setup constraints on my desk dictating placement location, so I expect that glass panel is gonna be a might bit toasty.

I'm running a Ryzen 5900X in a Fractal Meshify S2 case with an EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra. I run a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler on my CPU, which is a fan stack with a 120mm and 135mm fan on it. I have the switch on my 3080 set to run the fans at all times, and not go to 0.

My case has 2 x 140mm Fractal input fans and 1 x 140mm Fractal output fan. Honestly, haven't felt the need to add any other fans to this box. My CPU idle's around 34C, maxes out around 65. My GPU (which is undervolted slightly), hits about 50-54C in call of duty when I play.

Personally, I think the world goes a little overboard on fans and extreme cooling trying to eek out an additional 2-3 degrees. It's important for lifespan to stay within specified limits, but for many having 9 case fans isn't really providing much benefit.

I have 6 x 120mm fans but that's due to 360 AIO cooler with 3 fans in front on the radiator so I have to match then with same number of exhaust fans, two on top and one at back to maintain even flow.
GTX 1030 uses newt to nothing power so it produces little heat.
Rx 6600 uses up to 100W so it's cool as well. Mine starts fans at 50c

I may well configure for 140mm if I can get them at microcenter, or just set up 3 120mm front, in line with a straight push/pull with the cooler and rear exhaust.

It only really matters on medium/high powered systems if you want it to stay more silent under high load and either you don't want to underclock or you want to underclock only just a little bit. Bigger and/or more intake fans running at lower rpm also attract less dust so you don't have to clean out the dust filters as frequently─and also to some extent less fine dust will creep through the dust filters if the moving air is more spread out like over a larger total combined surface area of the filters. Most people don't care about the fan noise that much, only some think that going over, say, 750rpm with 140mm fans makes it already too loud. Avoiding to run the fans at much higher rpm also prolongs the life expectancy of the fans so, I think the world doesn't go a little overboard, at least not when talking about aircooled systems. Custom loop water cooling solutions costing double the price I paid for my whole laptop including its upgraded parts is where that story begins to change IMO, but then, it's still a hobby... lol

PCs are efficient vacuum cleaners, high frequency acts like static electricity and fans can pull small dust particles from far away. It's apparent with smoke, my desktop PC is couple of meters away from me and when I smoke I can see smoke drifting to it.

I was skeptical at first, but TBH switch completely from smoking to vaping like I did, it's better for health with overwhelming scientific evidence to support the claim that it's at least 20 times less harmful. My multi-split airco (with a heating function) has a built-in ionizer feature. With the indoor unit's ventilator fan speed set to low-moderate and the ionizer turned on I can chuck huge thick clouds all day and the lingering vapor just vanishes within the next minute, if I blow my cloud into the soft breeze I can see trails from the vapor fall to the ground literally while the rest pretty much instantly dissolves. Before I had this airco unit my clouds would often trigger the smoke detector's optical sensor alarm in the hallway if I left my door open for just a few minutes. The laptop is standing against the opposite wall behind the TV, both of them are on a table. The airco's indoor unit is ~2ft. away from a corner above it so it blows in the direction of the door that is right next to me. I always keep an open window to prevent ill side effects on the air quality from starting to slowly build up inside my room. Except on those odd occasions when I leave open my door because the outside air got polluted too much by a nearby petrochemical factory or by some ignorant neighbor (or a stranger whose car runs on old french fries in lieu of gas).

There are some scary stories about vaping too. My girlfriend is smoking electronic cigarettes but I prefer clean unadulterated natural tobacco from private farms, Gold Virginia type. Nothing heavy and roll my own with filters. about 10 a day or less. Commercial cigarettes are full of some chemicals.

Scare stories about vaping are 99.99% related to the anti-vaping lobbyists' lying for money. In the US you've got the MSA (Master Settlement Agreement), but it isn't just Big Tobacco at play. Big Pharma, corrupt politics, yellow journalism, phony health organizations and research agencies. The CDC has withdrawn the initial claim that EVALI (e-cigarette or vaping use-associated lung injury) deaths were caused by vaping nicotine, but the press barely paid any attention to this fact whereas those deaths had been all over the news everywhere so as a result a lot of people still wrongly assume that hundreds have died from vaping nicotine. A published 'research' article from Stanton Glantz got retracted from JAHA (Journal of the American Heart Association) for what we vapers now call 'glantzification' of the data. Bloomberg paid millions to combat vaping with smear campaigns built entirely on fraudulent science. The leading expert on nicotine as a substance is a guy named Neal L. Benowitz, M.D., he said that the addictive character of nicotine BY ITSELF (in absence of tobacco smoke) has never been shown to exist in human test subjects, by ANY scientific study, and, in addition, the animal studies don't apply to humans (as they don't even apply to most rodents either, for that matter...). I could go on. Also, rolling your own cigarettes with filters is not a real solution that works, as you still don't eliminate the tar by going that route.
