I am in a pickle. I'm in my 70s and not very experienced but when I load photos I have them in several places. How can I simply put them in one place?

Hello, and welcome. :alien:

If you wanted to keep your photos in the different folders, you can still do so and reference them all in one location in the Pictures library.

You can add and remove folders you want included in the "Pictures" library like below.

You can turn on showing "Libraries" in the navigation pane of File Explorer below to access them from.

When you say "load photos" what do you mean? More details, Please.
You must be using some "Program" to LOAD those photos. Don't you tell that program WHERE you want the photo's put?

In the case of the browser that I use, "Firefox" , I always go into Settings and tell it where I want its Downloads to go.
For every program I own, that stores data such as photos, documents, ISO's etc, I just specify that I want them all to go to the Desktop. Then from there, I can put them Exactly where I want them.
On my own PC's, NO data file is ever stored on my C: drive. On my D: drive, there are folders such as "My Pictures" and "My Docs" (and several others) where I keep those files. Then, it's easy for me to just copy those files to a Flash Drive or external HD, for a secure Data Backup.

Good Luck,
TM

Hello & Welcome,
Could you confirm?
You have your photo files in many folders on your system and would like to regroup them in one place (folder) .
Is that what you'd like to accomplish?

This is probably the incorrect place to say thanks to all who replied.
To make my question more clear or simple:
When I want to post a photo on let's say FB or show one to family, I have to look all over my PC and might find it. It would be simpler for me to have them all in one place. Usually, I use an SD card or scan.

In that situation, using the "Pictures" library may work best for you to access all the different locations in that one location. You'll just need to make sure all the locations you want are added to the Pictures library to see them there.

OAT,
Yes, OAT, putting them all in one place. Actually, for me, Google Photos works easiest. But I will be happy with anything else.
