Hello all,
Can anyone tell me why my memory card and memory stick both appear twice on my recently (1 week) purchased Dell Inspiron 3000 laptop in file explorer could 1 of each both be removed and if so how would I do it.

Also I never did like touch pads so I use wireless mouse brilliant, trouble is you accidently touch the pad and it interferes with your work, I thought installing the mouse cancelled out the pad, can anyone tell me if the touch pad can be disabled.

Many thanks

Add or Remove Duplicate Drives in Navigation Pane of File Explorer - ElevenForumTutorials

Disable Touchpad when Mouse is Connected - TenForumsTutorials
- The tutorial gives examples for specific devices. Yours might fall into one of these patterns. If not then I suggest posting a specific question on the subject & including the device name in the question title to attract the attention of those who are familiar with it.
- My own Dell Inspiron 7779 touchpad falls into the tutorial's Option 1 pattern so disabling it is quite straightforward.
- There isn't an ElevenForumTutorials equivalent of this yet. I think the same procedure will apply to Windows 11 once you open Settings

Are the memory card and memory stick from digital cameras?

I don't know how universal it is, but with the Canon cameras I have owned, memory devices formatted by the camera appear as 2 devices in Windows.

Mine, too. But if needing reformatting best to do it in the camera, seems to be additional information added such as more than one folder.

Same here --agree with the others that formatting in camera is the best option. (At least with Canon DSLR's which are the only ones I've ever had / used. Might be different with Nikon / Panasonic etc.

Cheers
