Why don’t my searches return results?

It seems to me you'd have to specify what you are having troubles with:
- Searches on the Internet
- Searches in this forum
- Searches on your PC
- Searches in the house for something you are missing...

Thanks for your response. If I look for a document that I know has a word I get no result what do I do?. Search contents is turned on.

It would be better if you would describe exactly what you are trying to search for:
- What kind of files do you want to be searched in? For example DOC(X), XLS(X), PDF, TXT or whatever.
- What kind of content are you searching? Text / words?
- Are you using the search box in the taskbar to do the search or the search box in the File explorer. As you can read here, there's a difference between them two.
- Remember that the more details you mention about what you want to do and how you do it, the more chance there is that you get a usable answer! People here are not clairvoyant...
