Seeking a second opinion... Is OneDrive malicious malpractice ?

I need to draw attention to something so I am posting this link to a conversation because I do not have the expertise to evaluate what I've been told in this other thread. This is important so I need a second opinion. If the information given to me in the other thread is correct, then in my opinion OneDrive is malicious malpractice. You can post your (second) opinion in the other thread, please. It's better to keep it all in the same place. You don't need to read the whole thread. Please just scroll down to where I talk about scandal and malicious malpractice. Thank you for putting more eyeballs on this important question. I am incredulous so I really appreciate the eyeballs. (Sorry for the typo in the title of the linked thread but I can't fix a typo in a title.)

Is OneDrive common to both of mu computers ?

I wouldn't call it 'malicious' , it is just another way of trying to exploit the consumer ?
The more data we collect, the more space we need and we have to subscribe to a payment plan ?

Somebody back me up on what I told this user in all his other threads. He won't believe anything I've told him. All he has to do is read the many Onedrive threads we've had to deal with over the last 5 years.

I honestly believe you're wasting your time. You gave this person a way to remove onedrive and they ignored it. I don't know why they are asking for help if they're not going to take the help given.

Maybe he doesn't want to remove OneDrive. After all, millions of individuals and corporations use OneDrive.

If you really believe that, then stop using Windows, because they can do anything they want the moment you boot it up.

So can we now assume that you have gained the expertise to evaluate a second opinion ... in which case, why not go back and evaluate the first opinion with that new expertise

But if you still haven't gained the expertise, what makes you believe a second opinion is any the more valuable ... maybe come back for a 3rd opinion?

You could always use your search engine to do your own research, I really can't see the point in coming back to the same source and asking for a second opinion .... bit like going to the same medical practitioner twice, once for an original consultation and then for second opinion.

Not really. If you fire the copilot for insubordination, plug all the peepholes and revoke TrustedInstaller's privileges, windows learns how to play nicely.

Sure pal. We're all just paranoid. Including the millions of people who have left windows and switched to linux because the OS they paid for broke their machine.

Yes, along with bitlocker, it acts as ransomware, that is a fact, I lost files twice because of both.
After each upgrade, OneDrive automatically marks local and new files as Always Online. :ffs:

MS insists that everything is backed up to OneDrive, so free option is getting useless, and it keeps adding folders, even those the user specifically marked not to, like Desktop. Recent addition is android's app Microsoft SwiftKey's backup. OneDrive is inevitable.

P.S. OneDrive is not a backup, it is mirroring, if a hacker or a malware removes your cloud files, you are done for it.
OneDrive is useful to sync recent files, but it is more practical to use it as an offline cloud backup, via copy/paste.

I don't think anyone complains about Microsoft as much as you do. You must hate using your computer, kicking and screaming. I love using mine.
Not everyone has the same issues you have. Gary isn't dishing anything out, he's just stating facts, is all I see.
