Change this setting in BIOS. Then insert bootable USB flash drive and restart. Now you must be able to see your UEFI USB drive.

You can always do a Clean Install of Windows 11 if you have to.
You might as well try to Repair the PC first.

Boot from the USB stick again, and try a System Restore...

I'm already trying but not a restore system found. The same to image recovery.

Realy, in not understanding why cant found OS to SSDs. Even the old one.

I'm gonna crazy because trying all the options.

1. Use the backup software to make a full Windows backup, of the old SSD.
2. Make the backup software bootable media on a USB stick.

3. Then take the old SSD out of the computer, and put the new SSD in the computer.

4. Then... just use the backup software bootable media, to restore the backup you made, onto the new SSD.



These are the partitions you should have in your full Windows backup...
In Disk Management, you won't be able to "see" the MSR partition.
You probably have one, but you don't really need it, so don't worry about it.

IF... the computer does not boot, just use the bootable media and choose: Fix Windows boot problems.

Hereby, I attach the picture of your motherboard's USB input ports. If your USB mouse and keyboard are not connected to USB ports (numbered 1), the ones near the round PS/2 port, then your mouse and keyboard may not work during BIOS post and you cannot get into BIOS or use function keys during BIOS post.

Therefore, please check and connect your mouse and keyboard to the correct USB ports.

Now restart your PC and press F11 key at BIOS post screen (as advised earlier). You may have to press Fn and F11 keys together depending on your keyboard. Please check. My keyboard requires Fn + F2 keys to be pressed to get into BIOS or just Delete key.

If your mouse/keyboard are still not available at post screen, then you may have to buy another mouse/keyboard.

What a convaluted thread going in all directions. Just wanted to let the OP know, there is a good chance a 4tb drive may not be recognized by the motherboard or may only be recognized as 3 tb going by reports about the motherboard on the web. That motherboard is dated 2014. From what I could find 4tb ssds did not come out until 2018. I pulled up the manual but it gives no specifiations of what size drives the motherboard supports.

The Z87 board has no M.2 slots.

Not a rhetorical question: there could be an issue with the MB detecting a 2.5" SATA SSD?

Yes, it was 4tb sata 2.5" that the threads I looked at on various sites were referring to. Some drives were not recognized. Others were recognized as 3tb.

Hi.

The drive is detected and it even appears in msconfig as dual boot drive. But the problems started after that drive was selected as the default boot drive because O.P. wanted to use that drive as the boot drive. Then that drive could not boot and O.P. couldn't use the USB mouse and keyboard to repair or re-install the OS.

Well, shoot. I guess I've assumed that all drives with 6Gbps SATA interfaces would work about the same. (The SSDs would be faster, with lower latencies than an HDD.)

Good thing that I haven't used a Z87 board for a while.

I wonder if the OP could benefit from a BIOS update? ASRock > Z87 Extreme3

(The latest BIOS supports NVME drives, which would typically be an M.2 drive in a PCI-E adapter. There were also PCI-E add in cards; I have an old Intel 750 card lying about, somewhere.)

There are so many clever solutions written here that my head is spinning. Without claiming to be the ultimate truth, I will give the solution that I use.

I never have any problems. And the fact that Windows does not load from the disk at all (I will not repeat myself), so 5 pages have already been written here without me. My suggestion is a specific answer to your specific question: How can I make the drive (F:) as my main OS drive without needing to do anything in the BIOS?

I can give you an example of motherboard limitations that blew my mind...mine. I have a pcie 3.0 OEM mobo bought in 2021. I have 2 nvme slots but can't run any larger than a 2tb nvme in both. I ended up having to put a 4tb nvme in an enclosure. I even went to Crucial and ran their scan. and sure enough, they offer no nvme for this PC larger than 2tb.

To make matters worse, although I have not tried this yet, if I am reading it correctly, I can't utilize any of my 4 sata ports if both nvme slots are used. I can utilize 2 of the sata ports if only one nvme slot is used. So basically my storage limitations if both nvme are used is a total of 4 gb.
To get more internal storage, I would have to use one nvme(2tb) and 2 x 4gb sata.. I discovered this in my system specs..What I do not know is these specs reference HDDs, not SSDs. I don't have 2 larger spare SSDs to check whether they would work or not. I'm only going by what I am reading.
