ShareX does kind of work in layers, because, in the gif above, I first invoked a capture with PrtScrn, then showed a mirrored mouse pointer movement taken from the annotate toolbar, then invoked a gif recording on top of that with Ctrl/Shift/PrtScrn.
It's a bit tricky though, when you stop the gif recording, you think it failed because the screen reverts back to the frozen screen from the first invocation, but, once you ESC that, the gif is on the Desktop finished!

There is no specific Change Log for these Dev Builds, but, upon reading Jaex's recent commits, there has been significant improvements to ShareX Tools, specifically Screen Recording/Gif Recording and OCR.

Don't know how useful this will be but I've changed the screenshot file names to time and date instead of the gobbledygook naming.

Under task settings -File renaming change 'Name pattern for capture or clipboard upload' to %y_%mo_%d_%h%mi same with 'Name pattern for Windows capture'.
