i tried using it, sharex, today just to capture a window of some text.. too much b.s... something that should be very easy! i had to use something else..

I don't know what's going on with ShareX, but, after you apply a custom theme and restart the PC, all the UI defaults back to the black acrylic background!!! 🤷‍♂️

Try running ShareX as admin and changing the settings. Then it may stick, mate.
I had a settings issue in the beginning because of permissions, so I created a task to start ShareX as admin (without UAC prompt) at boot, which solved my saved settings values being ignored.

Navigate to Documents\ShareX\ (or wherever you may have moved it), right-click ApplicationConfig.json, select Properties, and ensure "Read-only" is unchecked.

I have the same issue, and found a workaround. The theme mode will persist if you set a theme after changing theme mode. It is very likely a valid bug.

No biggie, I can live with it..., it just bugged me why it was fine up until a few Builds ago! 🤷‍♂️
