Windows 11
Hi All,
I'm running Windows 11 on a touchscreen PC, I have the Scheduler running so if the unit resets it starts up a program as required using a shortcut on the desktop.
This shortcut has command line switches in it that make the program run full screen, activates a comms link and set the operation mode (All related to the program)
This works great, loss of power and the system returns to the correct state on power up.
BUT when i want to manually start the same program using the same shortcut it doesn't set the startup options as required

The shortcut you use to manually start this process, is a shortcut to the scheduled task or the app itself?

If it’s to the app itself, I would create a new shortcut to point to the scheduled task:

  • You must know the exact name of the scheduled task.
  • The task should be set to "Run whether user is logged on or not" and optionally "Run with highest privileges" if needed.

  1. Right-click your desktop and choose New > Shortcut.
  2. In the location field (including the quotation marks), enter:
    Code:
schtasks /run /tn "Your Task Name"
If your task is inside a folder, include the full path:
    Code:
    schtasks /run /tn "\FolderName\Your Task Name"
  3. Click Next, name the shortcut.
  4. Click Finish.
